COMPENSATION NEGOTIATION FOR EXECUTIVES

My five-step process is designed to arm you with the tools you’ll need to be confident and take a more proactive, and ultimately, effective approach to compensation negotiations:

1. Analyzing the marketplace with respect to the role under consideration

2. Understanding the full value of your current — or most recent — package

3. Coaching, including role playing, on how best to approach discussions with the potential employer

4. Reviewing the value of an offer and, where appropriate, formulating an appropriate counter-offer

5. Reviewing the accepted offer and ensuring that there are adequate protections in-place through — and, in some instances, beyond — your employment, ie. by negotiating a severance package as part of the employment offer.

EXIT NEGOTIATIONS

I apply the similar disciplines and processes in helping clients negotiate maximum exit packages. As appropriate, this includes analysis of employment agreements, non-competes and related company policies.
